As promised, here is a post about our last meal from Ananda Fuara Vegetarian Restaurant in San Francisco California USA. I posted previously about the restaurant closing down and our last dessert from Ananda Fuara’s beloved vegan dessert case.
When we arrived on the last day, many of our favorites were sold out, so I tried something new … the vegan chicken salad sandwich. Oh my gosh … it was TO DIE FOR.

Sorry, the picture doesn’t show much, but the chicken salad filling, combined with the veggies and the crunchy French bread, made for one of the tastiest sandwiches ever. Hubby gobbled down his half of the sandwich and agreed that it was “VERY GOOD.” Super yum!

An old favorite that wasn’t sold out and that we were able to order for takeout was the vegan “neat loaf” (meat loaf substitute) and baked potato or jacket spuds with vegan creamy mushroom gravy. The garden salad shown above with the vegan chicken salad sandwich was actually part of the neat loaf meal. The neatloaf was one of the meals at our wedding reception at Ananda Fuara. It was just as delicious as I remembered!

Always such good food and wonderful vegan cakes and other desserts made in-house … for 40 years here in San Francisco. We’re going to miss you, Ananda Fuara!
