Earlier I wrote about Trader Joe’s spicy porkless plant-based snack rinds. A coworker had brought them on a bridge inspection and shared them with me. I thought they were tasty so I picked some up for an upcoming Super Bowl (USA football championship game) party. At the time, I hadn’t looked into or thought about the nutrition on these. So, get ready for a Nutrition Update – Vegan Porkless Pork Rinds !

Long story short. I did NOT expect the nutrition on these to be as “not horrible” as it is. For a decadent crunchy smack that’s kind of like spicy Cheetos!
Per bag (because … let’s get real, I AM eating the whole bag), these are:
- 455 calories
- Zero grams saturated fat
- 595 mg sodium (24.5 % daily value) (remember we are talking about a WHOLE BAG of chips)
- 52.5 grams complex carbohydrates (that might be a lot for diabetics, but … correct me if I’m wrong, here … I believe complex carbs are usually fine for other people)
- Zero grams total sugar (simple carbs)
- 24.5 grams PROTEIN. Woo hoo!

See below for the ingredient label for Trader Joe’s spicy porkless plant-based snack rinds. These are gluten-free and vegan.

Quoting from the packaging on Trader Joe’s spicy porkless plant-based snack rinds …
Some people purported that perfecting the plant-based “porkless pork rind” was impossible – preposterous, even. “When pigs fly,” they said. Well, scan the sky, because TJ’s Spicy Porkless Plant-Based Snack Rinds are just as crispy, salty, and satisfying as the real deal — plus, they’re vegan, gluten-free & baked, not fried. So go ahead, pork out!
