Climbing Gym Protein Shakes Update Part 3

I previously posted about the protein shake situation and then provided an update here. I stopped by the gym again today. Time for another Climbing Gym Protein Shakes Update … Part 3.

I’m happy to report at this time at the climbing gym, the Evolve vegan protein shake, and the premier dairy-based protein shake, dairy based, were both featured on the top shelf, basically as equals, side-by-side.

I’m also happy to report that they were both the Evolve and the Premier were the same price, three dollars. This is a big improvement over the previous situation where they offered the REBBL coconut oil (high in saturated fat) vegan milkshake for $5.50, and the premier dairy-based for three dollars. It made me feel like I had to pay a vegan tax if I wanted dairy-free. 🤨

Plus, nutrition on the REBBL coconut oil vegan milkshake was not as good as the nutrition on the Premier dairy-based. I am including the nutrition labels for the Evolve and the Premier, so you can compare them.

Nutrition facts for Premier dairy-based protein shake

I have tried all of the brands of milkshakes that they offered here, so that I could report truthfully, on a taste comparison. My first reaction for all of them with that they tasted really bad … no surprise, given that these are protein shakes … but the dairy-based premier, surprisingly (for me), was the worst tasting of all. Blech!

Vitamins and Minerals for Premier Dairy-Based Protein Shake

However, I recently downed the EVOLVE plant-based protein shake, 20 g of protein and 10 g of fiber, double chocolate, once again. Surprisingly, it wasn’t bad. Either they have improved the taste (changed the recipe or formula) or maybe I’m just getting more used to it.

Better tasting now … That’s good news for me! Hope they continue to offer the Evolve protein shake here. 140 calories, zero grams saturated fat, 10 grams fiber, 20 grams protein.
