Plantain Crisps – Product of Ecuador

Product of Ecuador. Plantain crisps. So tasty, I ate the whole bag! Must be my ancestral instincts taking over. Just kidding!

These plantain crisps from Trader Joe’s in the USA are very low in sodium, but they do have some saturated fat. Not too big of a deal if you eat just one serving. Since I had the whole bag, that’s not such a great idea, nutritionally … i.e., don’t try this at home, kids. LOL. Actually I’m sure it’s fine once in a blue moon.

Next time I’ll show more restraint but this time I simply surrendered to the pure delight of these. ❤️

By the way, we’ve had these Plátanos fritos / plantain crisps / patacones / tachitos from Trader Joe’s before, but it has been a while. I forgot how good they were. Saben muy ricos / tasty as heck.

  1. Yum! We polished off a bag of tortilla chips and a tub of freshly made guacamole yesterday! Not my best day. Ha.
